About this project

Between Lights is an ongoing research project led by Teresa van Dongen, exploring how solar energy, material innovation and light can become part of everyday spaces. Teresa leads the concept and design. WAUD contributes additional concept and design input together with Kelvin Godee, while WAUD’s main focus is technical development: feasibility, electronics, prototyping and assembly. The first fully functional prototype is complete, performs well and is now being exhibited. The wider project remains work in progress.

Challenge. Bring solar cells, printed electronics and light together in a functional prototype while the wider material research continues.

Approach. Teresa van Dongen leads the concept and design. WAUD tests feasibility and develops the electronics, prototypes and assembly, with additional concept and design input from Kelvin Godee.

Development. The first prototype integrates the solar surface, printed circuitry and illuminated elements into an exhibitable working object.

Outcome. The first fully functional prototype is complete, performs well and is being exhibited. Between Lights remains work in progress.
