Design instinct with the technical nerve to make it real.

Based in Nieuwegein, near Utrecht, WAUD moves between sketchbook, electronics bench, software and workshop floor to develop physical products and interactive installations as one connected build.

Portrait of Wiebe Audenaerd
Founder & design lead Wiebe Audenaerd

Designer, maker and constructive troublemaker.

Wiebe started at art academy HKU and later completed a master’s degree in Industrial Design at TU/e. That route still defines how he works: visually curious, technically precise and never satisfied with the obvious answer.

He likes projects that sit between disciplines, where form, electronics, mechanics and human behaviour all have to click at the same time. A sketch is only interesting when it can survive prototyping, production and the real world.

At WAUD, Wiebe challenges the status quo without losing sight of what must actually be built. The result is work that feels unexpected, but never accidental.

Studio

Our team.

WAUD works with people who have different skills, from programming, woodworking and 3D printing to graphic design and concept development.

For each assignment, we put together the team that fits the work. If a project needs specific knowledge, we involve an expert from that field to think, help and create with us.
